All reports are this girl is ready and raring to go! Norwegian Bliss was unbeaten last preparation, slowly making her way through the grades, ending the preparation with a solid win over horses such as Grand Rumore and Fashchanel. Despite having one soft trial in the lead-up, she has been galloping well at home with some notable horses and she will be ready to go first-up. She was scratched from a recent Canterbury meeting probably because of the conditions at hand, so an improving track at Hawkesbury will suit her perfectly for her return.

I truly think this is a wide-open race and I love the way this girl went about her work last start. It was terrible conditions in Newcastle on the day because not only was the track heavy but the visibility due to rain on the day was below par. She was slightly slow away and was in the second half of the field early on before Shaun Guymer made a move on her on the turn and put her into the race. She looked all but home when two up the outside made a lunge and pipped her for first and second. They were tough conditions for her first-up and any improvement on that will be beneficial. She has drawn wide but it enables her to drift straight across should she please and back to taking on her own sex suits. Think she is worth a speck at the price.

I loved her first-up effort at Canterbury behind Devils Triangle. She generally goes well second-up, is drawn beautifully and Josh Parr knows her well. He has got a tremendous record at Hawkesbury, so I am sure he will get her into a nice rhythm and be primed to strike in the straight.

Despite being able to carry weight in the past, I truly think this race is a different kettle of fish. There is plenty of speed around so she won’t be able to settle as close as she usually does and from the gate, she will need luck also. She is always well placed by Angela Davies, and I love the mare, but I don’t think today is her day.
Happy to go around her.
