This bloke had ‘back me next time’ written all over him after running well at his first start for Desleigh Forster. He was expected to run well with solid market support, and he did just that, finding trouble in the run before letting down strongly to just miss taking first prize. I thought they may have stepped him up in distance but it’s clear he still has some freshness in his legs and the new trainer wants to keep him around the 1300-1600m range.  Should be too good for them.

Huge win at the Sunshine Coast after a lovely ride from gun apprentice Kyle Wilson-Taylor. He retains the ride and the 2kg claim means he only has 57kg in what appears an easier assignment to his last-start win. He performs well at this track and from gate seven, he will have an economical run back in the field before unleashing down the middle late.  The key to this horse has been the blinkers coming off and I expect him to notch another win without the shades on.

Thought he was excellent first-up for the new stable at the Sunshine Coast despite finishing last. It was a tough first-up assignment but he finished off well despite encountering some trouble in the run. The step up to the mile looks ideal and from barrier one in the small field, jockey Jimmy Orman should be able to keep the leaders in his sights on the bend before powering late.
